The kitchen is the wettest room most Singapore homes have. Sink cabinets take splashes and leaks, dishwashers release steam, and the air is humid all year. An aluminium cabinet body doesn’t soak up water the way particle board or plywood can, so it won’t swell, warp or delaminate at the edges when it gets wet.
Wood-based cabinets usually fail in the same places: the base of the sink cabinet, the panels beside the dishwasher, and any edge where the laminate has chipped and let water in. Once the board underneath absorbs water, swilling happens, and it can’t be dried back into shape. The usual fix is replacing the cabinet.

BTO and HDB kitchens are compact, so the layout does most of the work. We plan around where your sink, hob and window already are, then fit storage into the space above and below: full-height wall cabinets, deep drawers instead of shelves, and corner units that don’t waste space.

The problem: It has really high ceiling of over 3.0 meters where the access height will be hard to reach if cabinets were built upwards. Therefore, we have create a top cabinet, without it being too high that result in difficult cleaning later on. We also found a way to still ensure beautiful finishing without compromising on ease of cleaning using tinted glass cabinet frame with tempered glass doors.

Not with today's finishes. Wood-grain, matte and solid colours are available, but finishes look different in photos, so we recommend seeing samples in person before you choose.
